Michael Daniel Cox

Mr. Michael Cox, 47, of Colquitt, died Tuesday, July 23, 2019, in Brewton, Alabama. Funeral services were held Friday, July 26, 2019 at 2 p.m. at Sheffield Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bobby Smith officiating. Interment followed at Cooks Cemetery with Tyler Cox, Phil Harden Jr, Robbie Carter, John Maloy, Daniel Haire, John Bailey, Ray Dean Heard and Guy Heard serving as active pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers were Isaac Cox Jr, Chance Cook and Luke Cook. Visitation was Thursday,  July 25, 2019, from 6 to 8 pm at Colquitt Funeral Home.

Mr. Cox was a self-employed truck driver and a member of Kimbrel Chapel Church of God.

He is survived by his wife, Lucrecia Cox of Colquitt; one son, Tyler Cox of Colquitt; one daughter, Katie Lee (Lance Heard) Cox of Colquitt;two grandchildren, Madison Battensby and Lylah Heard; his father, Isaac (Will) Cox of Colquitt; two brothers, Isaac Cox Jr. of Colquitt, Gerome (Crockett) Beamon of Dothan and one sister, Felicia (Efren) Vasquez of Dothan. A large number of nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Sylvia Guy Cox; one sister Lisa Cox and two grandchildren, Brayden Cox and Michaela Kirkland.
