Robbie Parker was born September 3, 1958 in Bainbridge, the son of Robbie Johnson Parker, Sr. and Betty Jean Lambert Parker. He was a graduate of Bainbridge Christian School. Robbie was a member of Bethany Baptist Church and Decatur County Young Farmers. He served several years on the executive board of Georgia Young Farmers and eventually fulfilled a term as Georgia Young Farmers President. Robbie worked side by side with his son, John, as co-owner of Yard Shapers.

Robbie was an overall wearing, chew tobacco spitting, grass cutting farmer. He loved life and he loved sharing life. Robbie was always smiling and cutting the fool. He never failed to ask about “your mama and ‘em.” Robbie was a simple man who enjoyed the simple things in life like food, family, friends, fellowship, and fishing. Service was part of who Robbie was. In addition to his service with GYF, he also served on Decatur County Board of Education for 12 years and taught Sunday School for many years at Calvary Baptist Church and Bethany Baptist Church.

Parker; his children, Robbie J. “John” Parker III and his wife, Mandy, of Bainbridge, Will Parker and his wife, Catie, of Andalusia, Ala. and James Gilbourn of Bainbridge; his parents, R.
