Marion H. Gambrell, 98, of Brinson, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2012 at Memorial Manor Nursing Home.

The funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 at Fellowship Baptist Church with Rev. Stanley Phillips and Rev. Jack Kinnison officiating. Interment will follow at Bethany Baptist Church Cemetery with Rob Cohen, Cleve Gambrell, Cody Gambrell, Cliff Gambrell, Tommy Moore, Jesse Hatton, and Ed Johnson serving as active pallbearers.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012, prior to the funeral service at Fellowship Baptist

Church. Memorial donations may be made to the International Mission Board, P.O. Box 6767, Richmond, VA 23230-0767 or to the Salvation Army, 600 South Scott Street, Bainbridge, GA 39819.

Mrs. Gambrell was born June 2, 1914 in Andrews, S.C., the daughter of William Cleveland Harrellson and Esther Porter Harrellson. She was a seamstress for Jack Winter, Inc. and a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Mrs. Gambrell was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, the V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary, and was a Gold Star Mother.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Holcomb C. Gambrell; and her son, Johnny Gambrell.

Survivors include her sons, Barry Gambrell and his wife, Norma, of Greenvile, S.C., and Don Gambrell and his wife, Linda, of Brinson, GA; her brother, Ruben Harrellson and his wife, Betty, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; her sister, Rachel Stearn of Georgetown, S.C.; her grandchildren, Shaye Gambrell, Cliff Gambrell, Rebecca Cohen, Cleve Gambrell and Cody Gambrell; and her seven great-grandchildren.
