Funeral services for Jocelyn Taylor Alexander, 18, of Colquitt, Ga., were held Tuesday, April 12, at St. Paul M.B. Church with Elder Leonard Sheppard officiating.

Interment was in White’s Bridge Cemetery in Miller County with Reggie Burney, Melvin Bryant Jr., Leonard Sheppard IV, B.J. Calloway, Chris Hayes, Earl Miller, Adrian Tolbert, James Mincey, Willie C. Madge, Clyde Miller, Greg Harris and Sedrick Miller acting as pallbearers.

Miss Alexander was born April 17, 1992, and died April 6, 2011, at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital.

She was a member of Lighthouse of Truth Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Jayllah M. Florence; her father, Johnnie C. Alexander Sr.; her mother, Shelia B. Sheppard; her step-father, Elder Leonard Sheppard; siblings, Kierra S. Burney, Johnnie C. Alexander Jr., Dequavius Grant, Jamichael Grant, Dontrail Grant, Adrienne Brown, Amanda Sheppard, Nicole Sheppard, Tyrone Sheppard and Leonard Sheppard IV; grandmother, Hazel Burney, and grandfather Johnnie B. Alexander. One sister, Jessica Monique Alexander is deceased.

Bruton Mortuary was in charge of the arrangements.
