Graveside services for Kathleen Cowart Dent, 92, of Fort Walton Beach, Fla., and formerly of Donalsonville, Ga., were held on Monday, Feb. 14, at Friendship Cemetery with Dr. Ron McCaskill officiating.

Casketbearers were Troy Palmer, Joe Burke, Farish Mulkey, Rome Etheridge, John Gray and Chris Thomas.

Mrs. Dent was born in Donalsonville on Oct. 9, 1918, and died Feb. 22, 2011, at her residence. She was a very active member of First Baptist Church as long as her health would allow. A registered nurse, she worked at the Donalsonville Hospital for many years and was an avid reader.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harley A. and Sallie Virginia Moye Cowart, two brothers and three sisters.

Survivors are one daughter, Tanya Pelham of Fort Walton Beach, and one grandchild, Keith Grimes of Fort Walton Beach.

Evans Skipper Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
