Otheda Griffin Raney, 96, of Bainbridge, Ga., passed away Sunday, March 14, 2021.

The funeral service will be held at 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Chris Humprhies officiating. Interment will be at Oak City Cemetery. Due to the ongoing concerns regarding the COVID-19 pandemic, those attending are asked to maintain the recommended safe social distancing of six feet and/or wear protective masks in accordance with the State of Georgia guidelines.

Susie Otheda Griffin was born February 12, 1925 in Donalsonville, Ga., the daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Jimmy Griffin. Shortly after high school, Otheda married Paul Raney. They made their home in Bainbridge where she was a member of First Baptist Church.

Otheda had an easy-going nature and seemed to get along with most everyone. She enjoyed cooking especially when she had a new recipe. She enjoyed being outdoors gardening. Otheda tended her flowers and shrubs as if they were on display to the world.

Survivors include her children, Paul F. Raney, Jr. of Stockbridge, Ga. and Roger Raney, Sr. (Mary) of Columbus, Ga.; her grandchildren, Roger “Chip” Raney and Robin Raney Orozco; and her great-grandchildren, Brett, Nick and Drew. Otheda was preceded in death by her parents.
