Mrs. Betty Louise Brooks Grant, 85, of Colquitt passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020, at Colquitt Alternative Care Home.  Funeral services were Monday, March 2, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Sheffield Funeral Chapel where Sam Dunn officiated. 

Mrs. Grant was born in Boaz, Alabama on April 1, 1934, to Luther and Nellie Mathis Brooks. She married the love of her life, Thurman Ray Grant, in 1954. She and her husband owned and managed B & G Oil Company for over 30 years. They were inseparable and enjoyed travelling, dancing, and fishing. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority, loved to read, and watch Braves baseball. Most of all, she enjoyed her husband’s cooking.

She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Sharon (Allen) Daniels; her granddaughter, Alesha (Jason) Fletcher; her great grandchildren, Grant and Aleson Fletcher, all of Colquitt; her sister, Clara Nell Heard of Bainbridge, Ga.; several nieces and nephews; and her Colquitt Alternative Care Family.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Thurman R. Grant; her parents, Luther and Nellie Brooks; and brothers, Perry and Lamar Brooks.
