William “Billy” Earl Jones Sr.

William “Billy” Earl Jones, Sr., age 88, of Donalsonville, Ga. passed away Tuesday, October 22, 2019 at his residence.

Funeral services for Mr. Jones were held on Thursday, October 24, 2019 at the chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home at 11 a.m. with Rev. Richard Trawick and Rev. Nate Leman officiating. Visitation was held one hour prior to the service starting at 10 a.m. at Evans-Skipper Funeral Home. Burial followed at Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville, with Buck Jones, Cole Culverson, Randy Logue, Kenny Perez, Walter Spooner and Rondall Broxton serving as casketbearers.

Mr. Jones was born in Donalsonville, on March 10, 1931 to Buck Jones and Jewell Rathel Jones. Mr. Jones was a purchasing agent for Kaiser Chemical. He was an avid fisherman and hunter and Atlanta Braves Baseball fan. He was a member of Friendship United Methodist Church in Donalsonville.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife, Nellie Jo Howard Jones of Donalsonville; his sons, Glenn Jones (Brenda) of Donalsonville, and William “Bubba” E. Jones, Jr. of Attapulgus, Ga.; his grandchildren, Buck Jones (Whitney), Cole Culverson (Leandra), Ashley Perez (Kenny), Leigh Green (David) and Haley Logue (Randy); and his great grandchildren, Noah Perez, Davis Green, Ryan Logue, Caleb Logue, Jackson Jones, and Jhett Jones.

Mr. Jones was preceded in death by his parents, Buck Jones and Jewell Rathel Jones; his daughter, Carol Jones Culverson; his daughter-in-law, Joye Jones; and his brother, Bob Jones.
