Advance voting began Monday in Decatur County.

Set hours for voting are Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 28, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Advance voting ends on Friday, Nov. 3.

On the ballot will be the TSPLOST (Transportation Local Option Sales Tax), a 1 percent tax on all sales in Decatur County that goes toward road and transportation projects within county limits. All county voters are eligible to vote on the TSPLOST question, which reads: “Shall a special one percent sales and use tax be imposed in the special district consisting of Decatur County for a period of time not to exceed five years and for the raising of not more than an estimated amount of $24,000,000 for transportation purposes?”
