Bainbridge High School Air Force JROTC earns “Best in Drill”

The Bainbridge High School Air Force JROTC hosted their annual drill meet this past weekend, September 23, 2017.
The meet consisted of teams from Thomasville City High School (Air Force), Cairo High School (Navy), Bainbridge High School (Air Force), and 2 teams from Lowndes County High School (Air Force).
The teams competed in Unarmed Inspection, Unarmed Regulation, Armed Regulation, and Armed Color Guard.
Each team competed at their best and it was evident in the scores the teams earned. The scores in all four events were extremely close. However, Bainbridge High School took the lead and earned the Overall “Best in Drill.” Lieutenant Colonel David Stewart, Bainbridge High School’s Senior Aerospace Science Instructor, stated “I could not be more proud of all the hard work and dedication that our drill team has put forth; they truly deserved each and every award they earned.”
Bainbridge High School Air Force JROTC earned the following awards:
- Overall “Best in Drill
- Unarmed Regulation – 1st Place
- Armed Regulation – 1st Place and Outstanding Commander (Cadet Curtiss Watson)
- Armed Color Guard – 1st Place and Outstanding Commander (Cadet Haydn Griffin)
- Unarmed Inspection – 2nd Place and Outstanding Commander (Cadet Jonathan Farrington)
Lowndes County High School Air Force JROTC earned the following awards:
- Unarmed Inspection – 1st Place
- Unarmed Regulation – 2nd Place and Outstanding Commander
- Armed Regulation – 2nd Place
- Armed Color Guard – 3rd Place
Thomasville City High School Air Force JROTC earned the following Awards:
- Armed Color Guard – 2nd Place
- Unarmed Regulation – 3rd Place
Cairo High School Navy JROTC earned the following Awards:
- Unarmed Inspection – 3rd Place
