Authorities on lookout for dog poisoner
The Decatur County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the possibility of a poisoned dog in the area of Bethel Road.
According to Decatur County Sheriff’s Office Investigator Robert Humphrey the investigation is being conducted and the department is asking for anyone with information to come forward.
A neighbor found Debi Gardner’s dog in the community after it had been missing for a short period of time. Gardner then notified the Decatur County Sheriff’s Office about a possible poisoning.
According to Humphrey, the dog was typically a housedog. However the dog roamed past its normal range. Humphrey says it could have been because the dog was in heat.
Decatur County Sheriff’s Office has posted a $2,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of whoever may have killed Gardner’s dog.
