The Bainbridge chapter of the Daylilies Society is revamping their direction under the leadership of their new president, Scott Herrick.
Herrick says he wants to expand the group, and really focus on educating members on Daylilies. From soil treatment to care all the way to trimming the flowers for show, the society will now focus on that aspect of gardening.
Their meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 7, will kick off their new direction with a beginners program on Daylilies. Herrick has developed a PowerPoint that will begin from the very basic ground level of Daylily care, so those who are uninformed on the subject can feel comfortable and learn.
“We really want people who want to learn,” says Herrick.
The monthly meetings will also now bring in speakers that can provide useful information to members. This month, the meeting will feature well known hybridizers that can give members lessons on care and the types of flowers they’re working with.
