The Grace Christian Academy Lady Cougars beat the Robert F. Munroe Lady Bobcats on Tuesday, Jan. 17, 46-27.

It was not a solo effort by any means. The Lady Cougars beat the Lady Bobcats with scoring efforts from just about everybody on the team. Eight of the 11 girls on the Grace roster contributed at least a point in the victory, and it added up to a blowout.

It was Grace’s game from the opening tip, the Lady Cougars pulled ahead to a 13-1 lead at the end of the fourth quarter, and that cushion was enough for them to lean on for the rest of the game.

The second quarter saw little offensive production from either team. Grace only managed to score 3 points while Munroe only managed 1-point. The teams headed into the locker rooms with Grace up 16-2.

After halftime both teams showed a little more life than the second quarter. Munroe put up 8 points, but Grace doubled that by putting up 16. The score was 32-10 in favor of Grace going into the fourth quarter.

Munroe did not give up in the fourth. The Lady Bobcats put up a ferocious fourth quarter offensive effort that scored 17 points, and finally saw them outscore Grace in a quarter.

Grace did not let Munroe catch up. The Lady Cougars scored 14 points in the fourth in order to keep the final score lopsided.

Mikey Harrell lead the Lady Cougars in scoring with 11 and also in rebounding with 13.

She barely beat out Emellia Woodrum, who had 10, for the scoring title.
