Grace Christian Academy’s girl’s basketball team split the week, losing their game on Tuesday, Jan. 10, to Southwest Georgia Academy and won their game on Thursday, Jan. 12, against Emmanuel Christian Academy.

SGA barely edged out Grace for a final score of 48-43. The game was in Grace’s grasp the whole time but they couldn’t manage to ever take the lead. The first quarter was only separated by two points, as was the second quarter. At halftime the score was 18-14 in favor of SGA.

In the third quarter, SGA pulled away scoring 14 points to Grace’s 9. Grace wouldn’t go down that easily though. The Lady Cougars put together a 20-point fourth quarter in an effort to make a comeback, but by giving up 16 points to SGA their effort was in vain.

Mikey Harrell led in scoring for the Lady Cougars with 14 points, despite only shooting 35 percent from the floor.

The Lady Cougars jumped out to an 8-point lead in the first quarter and then kept their foot on the gas in the second quarter to score 19 points in the quarter. At halftime the Lady Cougars had a comfortable 22-point lead with a score of 30-8.

The second half saw some life come to the Emmanuel Christian Academy team. ECA outscored Grace 14-9 in the third, but the score difference was too much. Grace put the finishing touches on the win with a 15-point fourth quarter to seal the win.
