 Mrs. Blanche Powe Moody Johnson, age 85, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015, at Archbold Memorial Hospital in Thomasville, Georgia.  Services will be held for Mrs. Johnson at 1 p.m., Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at Union Springs Baptist Church in Whigham, Georgia, with Pastor Stacey Glover officiating.  Interment will follow in Union Springs Cemetery, with Buddy Logue, Bo Logue, Shelton Powe, Benny Earl Powe, Marty Powe, Jimmy Powe, John Moody, Jason Moody and James Moody acting as pallbearers.The family received friends Tuesday evening, 6-8 p.m., at Cox Funeral Home in Bainbridge.

Blanche was born August 24, 1929 to Luther Powe and Bernice Pope Powe. She was a member of Union Springs Baptist Church.  Blanche retired from I.T.T. in Bainbridge. She has worked as a distributor of the Post Searchlight newspaper and thoroughly enjoyed selling Avon.  She loved gospel sings, especially the Lighthouse Children’s Home choir. She liked to fish and enjoyed gardening, especially working with her fruit trees. Blanche loved to watch birds and travel.  She will be sorely missed by the family she loved so much.

Blanche L. Johnson is survived by her son, Don Moody, Sr. and wife, Debbie of Leesburg, Georgia; step-children, Norma Jean Coulter of Macon, Georgia and Robbie Johnson of Alabama; sister, Doris Palmer of Bainbridge; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Ralph Moody and Robert Johnson; her parents, Luther and Bernice Pope Powe; sons, James Ray Moody and John Ira Moody; sister, Glenna Mae Logue; and brothers, Winford Powe, Felton Powe, and Bennie Powe.
