Funeral Services for Mary Frances Clayton Cliett, 82, of Cairo, were at 2 p.m., Tuesday, February 3, 2015, at the Cairo Church of God, Cairo. Rev. Avery Hutto and Rev. DeWayne Atkinson will officiate. Services will conclude at the church. Private interment will be in Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery. Mrs. Cliett passed away at her home on Saturday, January 31, 2015.
Active pallbearers are Casey Cliett, Brett Maxwell, Andrew Maxwell, Thomas Hutto, Doyle Pumphrey, Chad Collis, Jimmy Hammett, and Walter Maxwell.
Mrs. Cliett was born on October 13, 1932, in Colquitt, to the late Robert Lathan Underwood Clayton and the late Annie Lou Darley Clayton. On August 1, 1951, she married Ray E. Cliett, who preceded her in death on December 24, 2013. Mrs. Cliett was a homemaker and a member of the Cairo Church of God.
Survivors include: daughters and son-in-law, Anita and David Pumphrey of Cairo,  Raenelle Cliett Riaz of Rome, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Darrell  and Sheryl Cliett of Cairo; grandchildren and spouses, Dione and Brett Maxwell of Bethlehem, Ga., Nadeem and Pernilla Riaz of Gothenburg, Sweden, Lori and Avery Hutto of Hazlehurst, Ga., Casey and Jennifer Cliett of Cairo, Karrie Cliett of Cairo; great-grandchildren, Thomas, Michaela, and Miley Hutto, all of Hazlehurst, Sierra and Andrew Maxwell, both of Bethlehem, Madison and Mallorie Cliett, both of  Cairo, Charlie Riaz of Gothenburg, Sweden; brothers, Marvin Clayton of St. Augustine, Fla., Ray Clayton of Ft. Worth, Texas, Glynn Clayton of St. Augustine; step-brother, Paul Bell and wife Betty of Winder, Ga.; step-sisters, Mary Bell Miller of Tennessee, Bobbie Sue Bell Pelt of Crawfordville, Fla.;  and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; brother, Robert Doster “Bubber” Clayton; step-mother, Ollie Bell Clayton; step-brothers, David Bell, Charles Bell; and a step-sister, Ann Bell Miller.
