Clifton J. “Dud” Williams, 91, of Bainbridge, passed away Friday, Dec. 20, 2013 at Riverside Place.

The funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 23, 2013 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jean Watson, Rev. Wayne McDonald and Rev. Mark Smith officiating and concluded at the chapel. Interment was at West Bainbridge Cemetery with David Cutchen, Keith Pollock, Doyle Welch, Jody Martin, Beau Harrell, Benny Hayes and Gary Brinson serving as active pallbearers.

Mr. Williams was born Dec. 11, 1922 in Miller County, GA, the son of Oscar James Williams and Audrey Yates Williams. He was a graduate of West Bainbridge High School, Class of 1939 and served in the United States Army during World War II. For 34 years Mr. Williams served as a security guard at Bainbridge State Hospital, retiring in 2000.

Survivors include his daughters, Peggy Williams Stout of Bainbridge, and Carolyn Williams Kincaid of Bainbridge; his son, James Steven Williams of Bainbridge; his sister, Jet Owens of Chattahoochee, Fla.; his grandchildren, Stacy Stout Poe, John R. Stout, Jr., Kimberly Kincaid, and Casey Kincaid; his great grandchildren, Trent, Jordan, John, Zackery, Kelsie and Hayden.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Eunice McCalvin Williams; his siblings, Yates Williams and Charles Williams.

The family of Mr. Williams would like to thank the staff of Riverside Place and all others involved for their unselfish support and care over the last few months.
