Grace Christian Academy will be holding their annual Winter Festival fundraiser Tuesday, Dec. 3, and the live and silent auctions this year will feature items including tickets to the Master’s Golf Tournament in Augusta, signed Duck Dynasty items, a diamond necklace and more.
As in years past, the festival will feature an array of children’s games and activities in addition to the auctions and prizes available from 4 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
“It’s our largest fundraiser we do all year long and it’s amazing what can happen within four hours,” Cile Warr with GCA said.
The silent auction features somewhere around 130 items each year and the live auction items can sell for more than $2,000. This year Warr said they are auctioning a Master’s golf tournament package, a diamond necklace from Godwin’s Jewelry and a deep-sea fishing trip out of Port St. Joe for a party of 12. Warr is especially excited about a new item this year, a porch bed swing that was custom built for the auction.
“It’s always a great time for the kids, they all have a lot of fun and the atmosphere is great,” Warr said. “We will also have concessions and a general store, which has homemade goods like jams and jellies.”
Warr said she would also encourage Bainbridge residents to turn out for the event because in addition to the atmosphere, it is a great time to buy holiday gifts.
The students of GCA all contribute individual and class projects that are auctioned. These include paintings, drawings, ornaments and more.
There will also be a raffle for a chance to win $1,000 cash, Tory Burch luggage and other items.
The Winter Festival Committee is pre-selling armbands for $25 during lunch this week at GCA.
This armband will cover the rides at the festival and those who purchase armbands will also receive a bonus 25-student raffle tickets. Students can purchase additional raffle tickets as well.
