BREAKING AWAY: Trey Stubbs of the Bainbridge High School junior-varsity Bearcats breaks loose on one of his two touchdown runs in Thursday’s win over Cairo.
The Bainbridge High School junior-varsity Bearcats football team defeated Cairo, 38-14, Thursday at Centennial Field.
Elijah Tyler and Trey Stubbs scored two touchdowns apiece and quarterback Hayden Guy added another, leading the Bearcats to victory.
Bearcats offensive coordinator Leonard Guyton said he thought his offensive line and offensive backs all played well.
“Our offensive line opened holes and our running backs took advantage of it,” Guyton said. “They all gave great efforts. They also did a good job of pass protection.”
‘It was a true team victory,” added Bainbridge varsity head coach Ed Pilcher. “The offense, defense and special teams all contributed. They showed a lot of grit and determination.”
