Lady Cougars open with victory

Coach Erwin Harrell’s Grace Christian Academy Lady Cougars volleyball team opened their season Thursday with a 3-1 victory over the Stratford Academy Lady Eagles, of Macon, Ga., at Perry Memorial Gymnasium.

They won the first two sets, 25-11 and 23-11, dropped the third set, 25-20, and won the fourth set 25-22.

They were led by Melissa Mills, with seven kills and nine digs, Kelsey Harrell with five kills and eight aces and Kendi Castoro with 15 digs and a 100-percent serve percentage.

Merrianna Parker had one assist and Emilee Murr had a 100-percent serve percentage.
