Rising senior Hilary Flournoy, an outstanding No. 1 singles player for coach Amy Thomas’s Bainbridge High School Lady Cats tennis team last season, is already receiving letters from college tennis programs.

Flournoy, the daughter of Terri and Drake Flournoy, went 14-2 overall and was undefeated in Region 1-AAAA play in 2012.

She helped lead her team to the Elite 8 round of the State Class AAAA Tournament.

“So far I have heard from Georgia Southwestern University, Valdosta State University, Georgia Southern University and the University of Mississippi,” she said recently.

In college, she plans to major in sports broadcasting.

She trains under travel coach Mitch Rogers, who attends all of her matches.

At Bainbridge High School, she is a member of the Anchor Club and the Future Farmers of America.

She is also an A honor roll student and a member of principal Tommie Howell’s Golden Guides, who show new students around the campus.
