Bainbridge Force 2nd in Final 4 tournament

The 9-year-old Bainbridge Force travel baseball team finished a strong second at the recent United States Specialty Sports Association (USSSA) Final 4 Tournament in Hampton, Ga.

They opened play by winning a best two out of three series over Social Circle to reach the championship round.

After dropping the opening game 10-4 to Social Circle, the Force bounced back to win the next two games 12-5  and 11-10.

They had a team batting average of .400 in the second round game, which was won by pitcher Quayde Hawkins.

Robbie McMillan, Will Cook and Michael Conder saw action on the mound in the championship game.

The Bearcats scored the deciding run in the 11-10 championship game-clinching victory in the bottom  of the sixth inning.

Quayde Hawkins walked with one out, stole second and third, and scored the wiinning run on a single to right by Jack Burke.

The Force dropped both games to the Dekalb Royals in the championship round.

Since their formation a year ago, the Force has played area tournaments in Bainbridge, Valdosta, Tifton, Dothan, Ala., Quitman, Leesburg and Cairo.
