All-Star Tournament begins Monday

The Bainbridge Leisure Services Department’s 13-and-14-year-old All-Star baseball team will host the District 3 Georgia Recreation and Parks Association (GRPA) 14-and-under Tournament beginning Monday at Bill Reynolds Sports Park.

Play in the double elimination tournament will open with a 5:30 p.m. Monday game between the Tift County All-Stars and the Crisp County All-Stars.

The Bainbridge All-Stars, coached by former Bainbridge High School Bearcats Lance Lane and Sutton Reece, will take on the Grady County All-Stars at 8 p.m.

The team tuned up for the tournament with a Tuesday scrimmage game.

Team members include Carson Inlow, Jimmy Nix, Lawson Lane, Ty Varnum, Andre Jackson and Preston Strickland.

Rounding out the Bainbridge All-Star roster are Nolan Haire, Cayden McQuaig, Noah Bryant and Anthony Henry.

The winners of the first two games will play Tuesday at 8 p.m. The tournament will run through Thursday. If rain outs occur, make up days will be Friday and Saturday.
