Hasona named All-Area tennis

Bainbridge freshman Hema Hasona was named to the All-Area tennis team by The Albany Herald.

Bainbridge High School Bearcats freshman Hema Hasona has been named to The Albany Herald’s All-Area tennis team.

Hasona played No. 1 singles for coach Amy Thomas’s Bearcats. He finished with a 13-5 overall record and a 5-1 mark in Region 1-AAAA.

Hasona helped lead the Bearcats to the Class AAAA Sweet 16 state playoff round for the first time in school history.

He was one of four freshmen to make the 12-man All-Area team. The others were Garrett Elmore of Wstwood Academy and Nathan Bell and Mark Peterson of Westover High School.

The All-Area player of the year was Joel Landis, the No. 1 singles player for the Americus-Sumter County High School Panthers.
