Grace Christian Academy head Cougars basketball coach Steve Murr, who played college basketball at Tennessee Temple University, conducted a basketball skills camp this week.
The camp, held Monday through Thursday at Grace’s Perry Memorial Gymnasium, was for first- through-fourth graders and fifth-through-seventh graders.
“We just taught the basic fundamental basketball skills of dribbling, passing and shooting,” Murr said, during a brief camp break.
“There is one drill where I have the youngsters dribble around a chair and go in for a layup. It teaches them how to move laterally and cut in toward the basket.”
