The Region 1-AAAA champion Bainbridge High School Bearcats tennis team defeated the Effingham County High School Rebels 4-1 at BHS on Tuesday, in their first-round State Class AAAA Tournament match.

Hema Hasona won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles. Mitchell Massengill and Cole Bulger also won in straight sets at No. 2 and No. 3 singles, respectively.
In doubles, Stone Inlow and Nolan Lovering lost 1-6, 1-6 at No. 1 doubles and Zack Poague and Jack Reynolds won in straight sets at No. 2 doubles.

The Region 1-AAAA champion Lady Cats will host the Ware County High School Lady Gators Thursday at 4 p.m. in a first-round playoff match at the high school.
