Decatur County farmer Steve Brock was lucky enough to win the $2,500 drawing sponsored by Monsanto through their America’s Farmers Grow Communities. In fact, he has been lucky enough to win it two years in a row. The contest gives farmers the opportunity to win $2,500 for their favorite local non-profit organization.

The check was presented Monday evening at the dinner meeting of the Decatur County Young Farmers, the organization designated by Brock to receive the money this year. Last year he donated his winnings to the Mt. Pleasant Volunteer Fire Department.

Martin Bius, Decatur County Young Farmer advisor and vocational agricultural teacher at Bainbridge High School, said the money will be used to further the work of the youth livestock program.
