Each year, the Clark Invitational Meet honors long time highly successful Bearcats track coach Larry Clark, who still works with the team.

Top performers for the Bearcats included Craig Cooper, who won the high jump with a leap of 6 feet, and Dontavious Jackson, Ryan Edwards, Alton Miller and Hubert Thomas, who were second in the 4-by-400-meter relay with a time of 3 minutes, 30.36 seconds.

Edwards was also second individually in the 400-meter run in a time of 51.23.

Third places were captured by Jackson, with a time of 41.16 in the 300-meter hurdles, and Jordan Johnson, with a 42 foot, 5 inch triple jump.

Top Lady Cats performers Saturday included Diamond Bouie, who was second in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet, 2 inches and fourth in the 300-meter hurdles with a time of 47.91, and Porchia Green, who was fourth in the high jump with a leap of 5 feet.

“We thought our young team did extremely well against such strong competition,” Clark said, following the meet. “We had only three seniors who scored points. All others were mainly sophomores and freshmen.”

Finishing first and second in the boys competition were Tallahassee’s Lincoln High School Trojans and the Carrollton High School Trojans.

The top two finishers in the girls competition were the Tift County High School Lady Blue Devils and the Carrollton Lady Trojans.
