Youngsters show swine champions

Taylor Barber, the daughter of Jeff and Leslie Barber, and Lexie Delbrey, the daughter of Brandon and Laura Smith, showed the grand and reserve champion market hogs at Saturday’s Decatur County Young Farmers Swine Show at the Cloud Livestock Division.

Judge for the show was Luke McDonald, of New Castle, Ind. He is national sales director for Drive Livestock Publications and is affiliated with Oklahoma State University’s livestock exhibition team.

The grand champion county grown hog was shown by Audrey Anderson, the daughter of Joe and Grace Anderson and a member of the Bainbridge High School Future Farmers of America (FFA) chapter.

The reserve champion county grown hog was shown by Taylor Givens, the daughter of Robert and Andrea Givens and a member of the Bainbridge High School FFA Chapter.

Showmanship winners were Carson Lynn, the son of Jeff and Cara Lynn, in the peewee division; Lexie Delbrey, the daughter of Brandon and Laura Smith, in the pre-club division; Miller Hayes, the son of Brian and Lindsey Hayes, in the intermediate division; Cabe Rathel, the son of Charles and Susan Rathel, in the junior division; and Megan Kelley, the daughter of Chris and Lisa Kelley, in the senior division.

Saturday’s show and the Saturday, Feb. 11, Decatur County Young Farmers Cattle Show were the final shows for Will Bius, Alexandra McLendon, Sarah Joe Reese and Nolan Lovering, four members of the Bainbridge livestock show team.
