Eight Lady Cats seniors honored

The Bainbridge High School Lady Cats softball team honored their eight seniors and their families during senior day ceremonies prior to Tuesday’s game against Americus-Sumter at the Lady Cats Diamond.

Seniors and their family escorts walked onto the field between a line of crossed bats held by the other players and were congratulated by Bainbridge High School principal Tommie Howell.

Outfielder Jocelyn Beard, the daughter of Josette and Daniel Beard, was escorted by her parents. She plans to attend a postsecondary school, preferably Kennesaw State University, and study to become a neonatal nurse practitioner. Catcher Kristen Bennett, the daughter of Chad and Jan Bennett, was escorted by her parents. She plans to pursue a degree in medicine and she has verbally committed to Gordon College, where she will attend on a softball scholarship in the fall.

Senior third baseman and outfielder Diamond Alexandria Bouie, the daughter of Taraent and Gondia Bouie, was escorted by her parents, her brother Justin Johnson and her grandfather John Walter Neal. She plans to attend college and pursue a career as a physical therapist or athletic trainer.

Senior outfielder Khadeeijah Cooper, the daughter of Grace and Greg Cooper, was escorted by her parents, her cousin Courtney Chavers, her grandmother Amanda Neal and her grandfather John Walter Neal.

She would like to attend a four-year college on either an athletic or academic scholarship and major in criminal justice or dentistry.

Senior outfielder Natasha Green, the daughter of Amanda Neal, was escorted by her mother and her grandfather John Neal. She plans to become a childcare worker and open her own day care. She has attended Greater Saint Andrews Missionary Baptist Church all her life. She plans to go to college close to home so she can be close to her loving mother.

Senior second baseman Tiffany Hand, the daughter of Shirley and Billy Hand, was escorted by her mother. She would like to attend college, preferably the University of Florida, and pursue a degree in physical therapy or law.

Senior pitcher and second baseman Avis Jackson, the daughter of Dorothy Williams and Barrette Jackson, and granddaughter of Thomas and Lillie Jefferson, was escorted by her mother. She plans to attend college and pursue a degree as a nurse practitioner or something in the criminal justice field.

Senior shortstop and outfielder Briana Wade was escorted by her mother Bridgett Wade, her aunt Vannessa Lowe and her little brother Nicholas Wade. She plans to attend college on a sports scholarship and study to become an athletic trainer.
