New band members begin practice

First-year and freshman members of the Bainbridge High School Marching Bearcat Band participated in four days of band camp this week along with members of the dance line and color guard.

Camp sessions began Monday and concluded Thursday.

The musicians marched on the band practice field while the color guard practiced in the band room and the dance line practiced in the gymnasium.

Full band camp will be this Monday, July 18, through Thursday, July 21, and Monday, July 25, through Thursday, July 28, from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and from 7 to 10 p.m. each day.

Parents and friends night will be Thursday, July 28, at the band practice field.

There will be rehearsals Tuesday, Aug. 2, and Thursday, Aug. 4 from 6 to 8 p.m. on the practice field.

Percussion camp was held June 27 through July 1.

The bands first half-time performance will be Friday, Aug. 26, when the Bearcats host the Early County High School Bobcats at Centennial Field.

All camp sessions are mandatory for students to participate with the marching band.
