Goulding addresses Switzerland forum

Matthew R. Goulding, 25, son of Georgia Gruber of Bainbridge, addressed the Webster University Security Forum in Geneva, Switzerland, on April 8.
The theme of the Security Forum was “Counterinsurgency and Irregular Warfare,” and Goulding presented his thesis on ‘The Evolution of Counterinsurgency Strategy in Operation Iraqi Freedom.”
Goulding is a graduate of Kennesaw State University in Kennesaw, Ga., and is a Global Master of Arts in International Relations Candidate at Webster University, whose home campus is located in St. Louis, Mo.
Through the GMAIR program, Goulding is studying at each of five Webster University campuses, located in Austria, Thailand, Switzerland, Great Britain and the Netherlands, over a 12-month period.
Goulding, who is bilingual in Spanish and accomplished in French and several other Romance languages, served an apprenticeship with Newt Gingrich in Miami, Fla., in the summer of 2009, worked as a Spanish interpreter in Atlanta, Ga., and plans to commission in the U.S. Army as an officer, after the completion of his graduate degree.
