A funeral service for Audice Lynn Gay, 84, of Bainbridge, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, March 29, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Kenneth Cloud officiating. Interment will be at Roselawn Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 28, at Ivey Funeral Home.

Mrs. Gay was born July 31, 1926, in Bainbridge, the daughter of Joseph B. Lynn and Bertha Howell Lynn. She died Saturday, March 26, 2011, at Athens Regional Hospital in Athens, Ga.

She was a graduate of West Bainbridge High School and a member of Morningside Baptist Church. She was a retired telephone operator with 47 years of service with Southern Bell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil L. Gay; her brother, Clark Lynn; and her sisters, Ruby L. Ard, Helen L. Marsh, Mabel L. Nix, Lois W. Belcher and Lillian L. Hunt.

Survivors include her son, Jerry Gay and his wife, Becky, of Hull, Ga.; her brothers, Lucien Lynn of Gainesville, Fla., and Howard Lynn of Tucker, Ga.; her grandchildren, Alex Gay, LeAnne Freeman and Joey Wagner; and her great-grandchildren, Rosley Wagner and Jaycee Freeman.
