The funeral service for the Rev. Ken Gainous, 65, of Bainbridge, will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, March 18, at Faceville Baptist Church with the Revs. Robert Johns and Gwan Garrison and Mr. Russ Rodgers officiating.

Interment will follow at Cool Springs Cemetery.

Rev. Gainous was born April 26, 1945, in Miami, Fla., and died Wednesday, March 16, 2011, at his residence.

He was a graduate of Albany High School, Class of 1963, and attended Tallahassee Community College. A minister for more than 40 years, he began his ministry with seven years of service at Sycamore Baptist Church in Florida, and served for more than 28 years at Faceville Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his father, Emmett Grady Gainous.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Connie Guarro Gainous of Bainbridge; his son, Tim Gainous and his wife, Christine, of Cairo, Ga.; his daughters, Kim Jeter and her husband, Greg, of Faceville, Ga., and Jennifer Langston and her husband, Randall, of Sopchoppy, Fla.; his mother, Hazel Sims Gainous of Quincy, Fla.; his brother, Michael Gainous of Calvary, Ga.; his sister, Pat Freeman of Recovery, Ga.; and his grandchildren, Victoria Jeter, Nic Jeter, Jake Jeter, Ellie Jeter, Gabby Gainous and Jack Gainous.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 17, at Ivey Funeral Home.
