Dan Arnold

A service with full military honors was held for Daniel Willis Arnold, 77, of Bainbridge, Ga., on Tuesday, Dec. 7, at Cox-Ware Funeral Home Chapel.

Mr. Arnold was born March 8, 1933, in Bainbridge, and died Dec. 3, 2010, at his residence.

He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict, and spent a lot of time working with the local VFW group helping others. He loved playing bingo, dancing and fishing.

He retired from Amoco Fabrics where he worked as an electronics technician. He served as the commander of VFW Post No. 4904 and was a life member, as commander of American Legion Post No. 62, and a member of the Moose Lodge No. 1075 in Tallahassee.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jessie Frank and Kitty Lee Arnold; a sister, Mary Cameron and a brother, Jesse Frank Arnold.

Survivors include his children, Suzanne Schmutz, Chris Buckbee, Daniele Truitt, Pat Cooper, Kathy Shelton, Karen Suggs, Lisa Smith and Ronnie Shelton; sisters, Myra Thomas, Kitty Henderson and Betty DeWitt; a brother, James Warren Arnold; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and by a special friend, Minnie Owens.

Cox Ware Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
