Rodeo rides in this weekend

A real professional rodeo, including bull riding, calf roping, barrel racing, team roping, steer wrestling and girl’s break away, is coming to Decatur County this Friday and Saturday nights.

Gernie Geigre of Flying G. Rodeo, of Hilliard, Fla., is bringing the 2nd Annual Port City Rodeo, all for the benefit of Decatur County Family Connection.

The gates at Daniel Barnard’s Super B Ranch, 2785 Colquitt Highway, 9 miles north of Bainbridge, open at 5 p.m. There will be free activities for the kids, including bounce houses and old fashioned games. Concessions of hot dogs, hamburgers and bar-b-que, with lots of cold drinks will be available.

Bainbridge’s own Leigh Mullis Band will warm up the crowd at 6 p.m., before the rodeo begins at 7 p.m.

Advance tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 5-12. Tickets at the gate will be $12 for adults and $7 for children.

Tickets are available online or at Park Avenue Bank on Broad Street, the Welcome Center on Dothan Highway, Headquarters, and the Bainbridge-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce.

Corporate sponsors of the event are Southwest Georgia Farm Credit, Dean Dodge, Bainbridge WalMart, Aaron’s, First State Bank of Bainbridge, Construction CMG, Inc. and Total Petroleum, LLC.
