In order to build awareness of breast cancer, Marie Hendrie and Joyce Robinson, co-facilitators of the Decatur County Breast Cancer Support Group, show off a pink ribbon that others like it will go up around town. The ribbons are to promote breast cancer awareness. A Celebration of Life luncheon and fashion show will take on Saturday, Sept. 25, at noon at First Methodist Church’s J.O. Smith Building. Tickets, available at Park Avenue Bank, are $15 per person and include a catered lunch, fashion show, door prizes and silent auction. Proceeds benefit the local Breast Cancer Support Group, which meets on the third Thursday of each month at Memorial Hospital at 6 p.m. The philosophy of the organization is that no woman should have to fight breast cancer alone.
