Janice Phillips

Funeral services for Janice Kirkland Phillips, 77, of Donalsonville, Ga., will be held on Saturday, April 3, at 2 p.m. at First Church of the Nazarene with the Revs. Eric Boomer and Steve Hood, and Bobby Sinquefield officiating.

Interment will follow at Friendship Memorial Gardens in Donalsonville with Jimmie J. Duke Jr., Gordon M. Duke Sr., Randy Phillips, Dennis L. Jarrett, Charles R. Adams and Ronnie D. Adams serving as active pallbearers.

Born Jan. 27, 1933, in Headland, Ala., Mrs. Phillips died on Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at her residence.

Mrs. Phillips was a faithful member of First Church of the Nazarene where she had served on the church board, as the missionary president and a Sunday school teacher. She had worked as a cashier at the IGA and Piggly Wiggly before working in the family service station business.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband C.B. Phillips, and a sister, Joyce Y. Jarrett.

Survivors include a daughter, Beverly Phillips of Donalsonville; a son, Bruce Phillips of Donalsonville; a sister, Jewette Duke of Valley, Ala.; a brother, Robert B. Kirkland Jr. of Riverview, Fla., three grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Evans-Skipper Funeral Home in Donalsonville is in charge of the arrangements.
