Funeral services for James E. “Jimmy” Dean, 68, formerly of Bainbridge, was held Thursday, Jan. 14, at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Charles Jones officiating.

Interment followed at Roselawn Memory Gardens.

Born March 30, 1941, in Whigham, Ga., Mr. Dean died on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010, at Dorminy Medical Center in Fitzgerald, Ga.

Mr. Dean was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1959, and a member of Black Jack Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife Norma Jean Dunn Dean, and a sister, Sarah D. Siegel.

Survivors include two daughters, Carla Dean Batchelor of Loganville, Ga., and Aimee Dean of Bainbridge; his sister, Martha D. Samay of Oceanside, Calif.; as well as a host of family and friends.

Ivey Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
