Funeral services for Madelyn Gainous Harrell, 79, of Cairo, Ga., formerly of Clearwater, Fla., will be held on Wednesday, Oct. 28, at 11 a.m. at Eastside Baptist Church in Cairo, with Dr. Paul Jones officiating.

Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Cairo with Jeremy Mills, Ronnie Mills, Pete Turcotte, Wallace Cox, Tommy Willis, Stanley Sellers and Greg Sellers serving as active pallbearers.

Born Dec. 7, 1929, in Decatur County, Mrs. Harrell died at Grady General Hospital in Cairo on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009.

Mrs. Harrell was retired from Publix Supermarkets and was a member of Eastside Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Carlton Harrell; and her brother, Arnold Gainous.

Survivors include her daughter, Carol Ann Turcotte of Euharlee, Ga.; two sisters, Louise M. Willis of Cairo and Christine Sellers of Climax; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Clark Funeral Home in Cairo was in charge of arrangements.
