A first-timer winner and an out-of-towner won the Trade Love 10K races held Saturday.
The race course started at the courthouse, went down along the Flint River, through part of the nature trail and back up the grueling hill beginning at Cheney Griffin Park up to Broughton Street, and ending in front of the Bon Air.
Bainbridge High School cross country coach Mandi O’Mara won the women’s overall division of the 10K, which was the first time she’s won a 10K. O’Mara’s time wasn’t available Saturday.
Kevin Sweeny, who works for a state senator from Ocala, Fla., but was in Tallahassee for the Florida Legislature, won the men’s 10K in a time of 37 minutes, 12 seconds. Sweeney said he came to Bainbridge last year to run a charity race and fell in love with the town.
Kyle Harris won the men’s 5K in a time of 18 minutes, 4 seconds.
Kylie McGlincy and Lucie Reynolds, who designed the logo for the T-shirts, won the women’s 5K together.
The inaugural run helped raise approximately $2,000 for the Hunger Prevention Coalition in Bainbridge.
