Mrs. Alice Watson Eitson, age 87, passed away Sunday, April 24, 2016, at her home in Quincy, Florida.The family will hold a private, graveside service at Oak Hill Cemetery in Jasper, Alabama.

Alice Watson was born February 7, 1929 in Odenville, Alabama.  Her parents were

J. W. Watson and Grace Turner Watson.  In 1947, she married the love of her life, Louie C. Eitson.  They made their home in Bonifay, Florida.  In 1998, Mr. Eitson preceded her in death.  Mrs. Eitson was an educator.  She taught in Holmes County Schools for over 20 years.  In 1986, they moved from Bonifay to Bainbridge, Georgia.  For the past three years Mrs. Eitson has been living in Quincy, Florida, with her daughter.  She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Bainbridge.  Alice Eitson was a gifted teacher and loving mother.  She will be sorely missed by her family and friends.

Alice Watson Eitson is survived by her children, Brenda Helms and husband, Judge of Quincy and Melissa Stanton and husband, Mark of McDonough, Georgia; her sister and brother, Mary Watson Brooks and Frank D. Watson, both of Odenville, Alabama; grandchildren, Amanda Craven and husband, Kasey of Greer, South Carolina, Rachel Stanton of McDonough, and Sylvia Stanton of McDonough; and great-granddaughter, Lucy Margaret Craven of Greer.  Mrs. Eitson was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and one son, Neil Louis Eitson.

The family wants to thank the staff of Big Bend Hospice and caregivers, Christine “Cookie” Winbush and Jackie McCray for the excellent care, attention, and love they showed Mrs. Eitson.
