Thomas Gordon “Tommy” Turnage

Thomas Gordon “Tommy” Turnage, 54, of Gainesville, Fla., passed away Monday, January 25, 2016.

The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, January 30, 2016 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Art Bruce officiating. Interment will be at Oak City Cemetery.

Mr. Turnage was born April 26, 1961 in Bainbridge, Ga., the son of Curtis Turnage and Susie Bell Calhoun Turnage. Tommy enjoyed his time of continuous learning with the ARC program of Alachua County, Fla. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, traveling and especially going to the movies. Tommy was a very social person and some of his favorite times were spent with his family. Tommy loved music and was of the Baptist Faith.

Survivors include his sisters, Jean Billingsley and her husband, Richard, of Tallahassee, Fla. and Florence Brown and her husband, Randy, of Whigham, Ga.; his brothers, Larry Turnage and his wife, Ann, of Dothan, Ala. and Ernie Turnage of Tallahassee; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Tommy was preceded in death by his parents.
