Jacquelyn “Jackie” Keith Hornsby

Jacquelyn “Jackie” Keith Hornsby, age 82, of Iron City, GA passed away Wednesday afternoon, June 24, 2015 at Seminole Manor Nursing Home in Donalsonville, GA.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hornsby will be held on Saturday morning, June 27, 2015 at 10 a.m. at Iron City Baptist Church with Rev. David Williams officiating. Interment will be held at Friendship Memorial Gardens with Judson Hornsby, Will Hornsby, Cale Cloud, Logan Hornsby, Seth Cloud, Kyle Horne and Keith Hires serving as active casketbearers. Visitation was held on Friday evening, June 26, 2015 from 6—8 p.m. at the Chapel of Evans-Skipper Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to Gentiva Hospice 432 East Shotwell Street Bainbridge, GA 39817 or to Iron City Baptist Church PO Box 128 Iron City, GA 39859.

Mrs. Hornsby was born in Greenville, GA on March 20, 1933 to Jack Keith and Catherine Chambless Keith. She earned her Master’s Degree in school counseling from Troy State University in Dothan, AL. Mrs. Hornsby worked in the field of education for 32 years, serving one year in the Decatur County School System, one year in the Miller County School System and 30 years in the Seminole County School System.  She was a member of Iron City Baptist Church.

She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 60 years, Eugene Hornsby of Iron City, GA; two sons, Vann Hornsby and wife Patsy and Bill Hornsby and wife Lora of Iron City, GA; a daughter, Natalie Horne and husband Tracy of Iron City, GA; and a sister, Joanne Hires and husband John Robert of Clarkesville, GA. Mrs. Hornsby is also survived by her grandchildren, Judson Hornsby, Will Hornsby and wife Ashlee, Cale Cloud, Brooke Hornsby, Logan Hornsby, Seth Cloud and wife Alicia, and Kyle Horne; her great grandchildren, Mills and Allee Hornsby, Mason, Preston, and Amzie Hornsby, and Aubree Cloud; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Hornsby was preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Catherine Keith.

Evans Skipper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
