Patsy Ethridge Baxley, 68, of Doraville, Georgia, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2015.

Mrs. Baxley was born October 20, 1946 in Bainbridge, Georgia to William Hardwick “Hardy” and Lucille Miller Ethridge. She was raised in Donalsonville, Georgia, and was a 1964 graduate of Seminole County High School.

Mrs. Baxley lived in the Atlanta area for over forty years, where she worked as a secretary for many different businesses including Fleet Finance, Eldercare, and Peach State Irrigation. She had a great love of animals and always had pet dogs and cats. She loved cooking for her family, playing Bunco, and socializing with her friends. Her greatest joy in life was in being a mother and grandmother. When her children were growing up, she enjoyed being a substitute teacher, grade mother, and “team mom”.  She was also a very supportive and involved grandmother and never missed any of her granddaughters’ activities. She was a devoted member of St. Bede’s Episcopal Church, where she had many friends and enjoyed helping with fundraising.

Mrs. Baxley was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Jimmy Baxley.  She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cecelia and Robert Bryan; son, Harry Baxley and his fiancé, Kristen; granddaughters, Anastasia and Kinsey Bryan; brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Jennifer Ethridge; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Harriett Nolan, Aleathea and David Davis, Frances and Paul Kilpatrick, and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service was held Friday, May 1, at 4 p.m. at St. Bede’s Episcopal Church, 2601 Henderson Mill Rd. NE, Atlanta, with the Reverend Chad Vaughn officiating.

Flowers accepted, or donations in her memory may be made to St. Bede’s Episcopal Church or a favorite charity.

Cremation Society of Georgia was in charge of arrangements.
