Mary Alice Brooks Rackowski

Mary Alice Brooks Rackowski, 79, of Perry, Fla., and formerly of Bainbridge, passed away Wednesday, October 8, 2014.

The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 11, 2014 at Ivey Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Marvin Fowler officiating and will conclude in the chapel. Interment will be at Oak City Cemetery.

Mrs. Rackowski was born May 25, 1935 in Bainbridge, the daughter of Tom Brooks and Mary Comerford Brooks. Mary Alice was a graduate of Bainbridge High School, Class of 1952 and was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during the Korean War. Mrs. Rackowski was a dedicated homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Samuel Joseph Rackowski of Perry; her children, Joe Rackowski and his wife, Holly, of Ohio, Alicia Bracken and her husband, Lowell, of Perry,  and Alison Rackowski of Newnan, Ga.; her granddaughters, Faith and Edy; her two sisters, Lois Barwick and Louise Taylor of Bainbridge and her brother, Jimmy Brooks of Bainbridge.
