Lillian M. Braswell, 92, of Georgetown, S.C., known by many as “Nanny or Ms. B,” departed this life on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012.

She was born in Decatur County, Ga. on July 17, 1920, where she resided until moving to live with her daughter in Georgetown, S.C. in 1982. She worked at the Ball and Que Restaurant and retired from door greeting at Wal-Mart in 2010 at the age of 89.

She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Brinson, Ga., but attended First Baptist Church in Georgetown.

She was preceded in death by her husband, R.A. Braswell; eldest granddaughter, Dee Dee Martin; and son-in-law, Milton Martin.

She is survived by one daughter, Patricia B. Martin of Georgetown; two grandchildren, Greg Martin and Marisa M. Cooper of Georgetown; and four great-grandchildren, Tori Bowers (Robert) and Keith Martin both of Charleston, S.C., and Madison Cooper and Jarrett Cooper, both of Georgetown. Completing her 5th generation are Brayden Bowers and Everette Bowers. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins in Decatur and Seminole Counties in Georgia.

Visitation will be held from 1-2 p.m. Monday, Sept. 24, at Bethany Baptist Church, directly followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m.

Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
