Mrs. Margaret Jeanette Barwick Godwin, 87, of Bolton, N.C., died Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012.

The funeral was conducted on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, at Bolton Baptist Church, with the Rev. Sterling Sarvis officiating. Interment was in Peacock’s Columbus (N.C.) Memorial Park.

She was born June 24, 1925 in Georgia, the daughter of the late James B. Barwick and Hattie Elizabeth Perry Barwick. She was the widow of the late James Parks Godwin Sr., and was also preceded in death by a daughter, Judy G. Cothren and a sister, Geneva Prevatte.

Survivors include a son, James Parks Godwin Jr. of Whiteville, N.C.; two daughters, Sandra Renee Rawls of Whiteville and Margaret Elaine Caison of Winnabow; nine grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Peacock Funeral Home of Whiteville was in charge of the arrangements.
