March 12 is the deadline for individuals and corporations to contribute toward Relay or Life that would ensure they get on the event T-shirt.

Also on March 12, a team meeting will be held at the First United Methodist Church adult Sunday school building beginning at 6:45 p.m. The theme for this year’s Relay is “Colors of Cancer,” and teams not already formed my register at that time or go to the event Web page by searching Relay for Life, Decatur County, Ga.

Relay for Life events are held during the evening and into the night as individuals and teams camp out at the BMS track. Teams do most of their fund-raising prior to the event, but some teams also hold creative fund-raisers at their camp sites during the Relay, all in an effort at furthering the American Cancer Society’s efforts to save lives by helping people stay well by helping them get well, by finding cures and by fighting back against cancer.
