Prior to kickoff, there will be an All-Star military salute during the National Anthem to honor all military personnel. Active military service personnel will be admitted to the game free with their showing of proper identification.

Three Cairo High School Syrupmakers—wide receiver and defensive back Quentin Jones, wide receiver and defensive back Chris Adams and running back and linebacker Richard Brimm—will also play for the Southwest Georgia All-Stars.

Players from other 2009 Bearcats opponents on the Southwest Georgia All-Star squad are outside linebacker and free safety Chris Shiver, tight end and defensive end Caleb Heard and place kicker and punter Griffin Bell, all of the Region 1AAAA champion Thomas County Central High School Yellow Jackets and wide receiver Deon Wiggins and running back and linebacker Sean Stewart of the Americus-Sumter County High School Panthers.

College scouts and recruiters will be at the game evaluating the performances of the two teams, which are made up of players representing 30 Georgia high schools and 30 Florida high schools.

Players from both teams were honored at an All-Star banquet last night at the Thomas County Central High School cafeteria.

The game is sponsored by Varsity Sports Management and “In The Zone” high school sports magazine.
